Exfoliating Bar Soap
Upcycled Coffee Soap — Try a Single Bar
Your first step to something better.
Not sure where to start? Start here. The single bar is the no-commitment introduction to upcycled coffee skincare — a patented 2-in-1 handcrafted in Brooklyn from espresso grounds rescued from local cafés. Pick a scent, try the bar, feel the difference yourself.
What every bar does
- Exfoliates with real upcycled espresso grounds — a natural physical scrub, firmer than sugar, gentler than nut shell
- Cleanses with a rich lather from organic coconut, olive, sunflower and castor oils, so skin feels soft, not stripped
- Made with caffeine-rich spent espresso, a familiar skincare ingredient, and nothing synthetic
- Skin feels smoother with regular use of the scrub side
- 100% vegan, palm-oil-free and plastic-free
Pick your scent
- Lavender — calm, floral, grounding
- Cedar & Bay Leaf — bold, woody, earthy
- Citrus & Bubbles — bright, energizing, fresh
One bar is all it takes. Most people come back for the 3-Bar Pack.
Ingredients
Saponified organic coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil and castor oil; upcycled coffee grounds; naturally derived fragrance. That is the whole list — no palm oil, no synthetic detergents, no plastic microbeads. Full ingredient documentation is available to retailers on request.
How to use
Wet skin. Lather with the smooth cream side to cleanse. Flip to the dark coffee side to exfoliate, then rinse. Most people use the cream side every day and the scrub side two or three times a week. Let the bar dry between showers (a dish that drains helps) and it lasts roughly four weeks of daily use.
Questions people ask
How long does one bar last?
About four weeks of daily showers if it dries between uses. Stored wet in a puddle, less — that's true of any real soap.
Is coffee soap okay for sensitive skin?
The cream side is a plain organic-oil soap and most people use it daily. The coffee side is a physical exfoliant, so start with it once or twice a week and go by how your skin feels. As with any new product, patch-test first.
Will it make me smell like coffee?
Faintly, on the scrub side, while you're using it — a warm roasted note under the scent, not a coffee shop. It rinses clean and doesn't linger.
Where do the coffee grounds come from?
Spent espresso we collect from cafés in Brooklyn, dried and worked into the bar. Grounds that would otherwise go to landfill are the whole reason 2nd Ground exists.

Each bar is poured by hand in small batches — slight variations in color and texture are the point, not a defect.
